every star is dying
i know i am too.
bruises on my ribs, bruises on my heart
lungs collapsing, bruises on my soul.
purple constellations
there are stars beneath my skin
bright burning memories
i never could outrun.
my whole body struggles
choking on starlight
gravestones and orbits
drowning all my bones.
i carry midnight in my chest
a world of forgotten disasters
where daylight cannot reach;
god knows it has tried.
every star a dying thing
every glow a warning flare
i trace them in the dark;
they poison all my air.
